Download IROMUSIC for Linux
For Ubuntu 24.04 or later. One command installs IROMUSIC, or download the deb package by hand. Both are free.
Install with one command
Open a terminal and run:
curl -fsSL https://iromusic.live/install.sh | bashIt picks amd64 or arm64 itself. You can read the script first: curl -fsSL https://iromusic.live/install.sh | less or open install.sh in your browser.
iromusic.live is the only official IROMUSIC website. Modded or cracked copies elsewhere are not ours. How to tell the official app from a fake
What the command does
- It asks the IROMUSIC release catalog (api.iro.mobi) for the newest deb for your CPU, and checks that glibc is 2.38 or newer.
- It downloads the package over HTTPS and checks its SHA-256 against the catalog. Nothing is installed until the hash matches.
- It asks for your sudo password up front, because installing a package needs administrator rights.
- It installs the libraries the package needs and are missing (GTK, EGL/GLES, libsecret, jsoncpp and libmpv) before the app. To do that it refreshes the package lists and, on Ubuntu, turns on the universe repository if it is off, because libmpv2 lives there.
- It installs the package with apt-get. Start it afterwards with the iromusic command or from your applications menu.
Options: --dry-run shows what would be installed; --uninstall removes IROMUSIC (the libraries it installed stay).
Requirements
- Ubuntu 24.04 or later (glibc 2.38 or newer). On older releases or other distributions, use the web app.
- An amd64 (x86_64) or arm64 processor.
- About 9.6 MB for amd64 and 8.7 MB for arm64.
Download the deb package by hand
I want the deb package
Linux DEB package (x86_64)
After downloading, compare the SHA-256 of the file with this value to confirm it is the official build.
Linux DEB package (arm64)
After downloading, compare the SHA-256 of the file with this value to confirm it is the official build.
- Pick the file for your CPU. Run
dpkg --print-architectureto see which one it is. - In the download folder, run (replace FILE with the file name):
sudo apt install ./FILE.deb
The package depends on libc6 (2.38 or newer), GTK 3, libegl1, libgles2, libsecret, jsoncpp and libmpv2. apt installs them from your repositories; libmpv2 is in Ubuntu's universe repository.
Updating and removing
To update, run the same install command again, or install the newer package by hand. Version history: releases page. To remove it:
curl -fsSL https://iromusic.live/install.sh | bash -s -- --uninstall
